Welcome to postdoc Dr. Inna Nikonorova who joined us in July 2019. Inna is isolating and profiling ciliary extracellular vesicles. To learn more about Inna, read this profile piece in JBC http://www.jbc.org/content/294/38/13864/suppl/DCAuthor_profile

Dr. Jonathon Walsh is an NIH-IRACDA postdoctoral fellow who studies mammalian cilia (PhD UGA) to C. elegans cilia in September 2018. Jonathon is studying the biology of the polycystins and signaling GPCRs, while mentoring undergraduate and summer students and teaching at Medgar Evers College

Dr. Shilpa Akella is busy publishing! She discovered that EV releasing cilia have specialized features including a unique periciliary membrane compartment (Akella, Carter et al) and ciliary transition zone (Akella, Silva et al).

We said goodbye to some great labmates. Post-bacc researchers/Genetics majors Yasmin Ramadan and Amanda Gu started the Columbia Biology PhD and UPenn Dental programs, respectively. Dr. O’Hagan started his tenure-track position and research laboratory at Montclair University https://ohaganlab.weebly.com/. Dr. De Vore defended her thesis and is now STEM Academy Biology Teacher at Passaic County Technical Institute https://www.pcti.tec.nj.us
